The bands' tastes were gradually shifting towards metal bands like Slayer and Celtic Frost. They released a demo in Grind the Enemy It was packaged with a booklet and a patch as a nod to Crass and was self-distributed with a run of only copies. One of these found its way to Peaceville Records and the band was invited to record a song for the A Vile Peace compilation album.

The track was called "Where Evil Dwell" and showed the band struggling to find its sound. Mark Holcombe. GD Ginger. Michael Worthington. Clive Hughes. Paying supporters also get unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app.

Purchasable with gift card. However as we watched the tragedy of Grenfell unfold we both knew we wanted to do something, however small and however insignificant that gesture might be. So this is the result, a low and dirty new version of the title track from our demo 30 years ago. The lyrics reflect how we feel about those responsible for the murder of the poor forgotten people of Grenfell.

All proceeds will go to a community based group fighting for the justice the families so richly deserve. Please download the single and share this link.

Anarchist lyrics over crushing metallic punk. This doesn't bore me like so much punk rock does today. I don't like the Wartech demos at the end, though. It's hard to believe that it was almost the same band but with a different bassist. The Wartech Demos at the end kinda suck. I wish peaceville had just gotten the "Grind the Enemy" cassette and put that on there instead The long anticipated CD re-release of the crust classic. See all reviews.

  1. Oct 19,  · But before that Lp there has been a demo released in , this is “Grind the enemy”, showing an even stronger later Amebix influence, probably Axegrinder’s biggest source of inspiration. One of those tapes able to shake the underground now is finally issued on vinyl /5(25).
  2. Oct 19,  · referencing Grind The Enemy, LP, Unofficial, PA01 I'm trying to buy a copy of this LP for a friend and now seeing it's banned. I personally own a copy (not willing to sell, sorry!) and think the label did a great job with it/5(36).
  3. Jul 29,  · The version that was distributed on Aker Distro (which was run by Norman from the California punk band Armistice) is definitely a different version than the original UK distributed by the band.I traded Norman for a copy on Aker sometime in the late 90's/5(9).
  4. grind the enemy by axegrinder, released 03 july grnid the enemy another new day but the sun isn't shining there's a crack in the sky where the black smokes' rising wipe the tears from our eyes and we'll see what we find with anger in our hearts we've axes to grind grind. the enemy we walk around this ruin that was once your home hear the cries for the missing who are never coming home .
  5. Axegrinder-Grind the enemy (tape,) Axegrinder recorded two more demos and released the legendary Rise of the Serpent men LP that was also appeared as bonus tracks on Prophecy of Doom full lenght, in the cd version, on Peaceville Records. They also contributed tracks in some compilations (Vile visions, A Ville peace and Hiatus comp).

  7. The band's version of Axegrinder's "Grind the enemy" is also remarkable. GTE cleverly readapted the song, adding a second layer of guitar, reworking the bass and guitar riffs and infusing it with new leads. It emphasized the band's resourcefulness and almost turned "Grind the enemy" into a song that could have appeared on "Rise of the serpent men".
  8. Early on known as Tyrants of Hate, the band changed their name to Axegrinder in Their crust/thrash style was influenced by Amebix, but has also been compared to both Motörhead and Venom (8). In , after the Grind The Enemy demo, drummer Jel left and was replaced by Darryn for the Live cassette recording.
  9. AXEGRINDER - Grind The Enemy Metallic Crust/punk band from London formed in , they singed for Peaceville records, lyrical themes are about society, politics and anarchy like the most crust/punk bands but they are different for their sound is more brutal and their songs are maraton length .
