The early digital recorders had to use a 'brick wall' filter and this meant that nothing above a certain frequency gets through. This meant a horrible sounding multiple section circuit. By using oversampling they were ultimately able to raise the cutoff frequency of the filter thus allowing a gentler sounding circuit to be used. You have the volume at a comfortable level, and it sounds good. Then the commercial comes on, and it's LOUD, so you grab for the remote to turn it down.

It's not that the commercial is louder than the show you're watching, but it seems really loud to your ears because it's all the same volume, there is no dynamic range. Someone whispering in the commercial is the same level as an explosion.

This is done to grab your attention, which it does. This is what causes your ears to hurt when listening to a brickwalled cd. Each individual disc case was coming of the tape holding it together. Otherwise, it is a good packaging technique. I have most of the films on this edition on other DVDs. Funny stuff from my childhood. These dvd's were a gift for my father who watched them every Sunday out of the NY area. They arrived in plenty of time and in good condition.

Bought for 70th birthday of Brother in law and he loved it as it reminded him of his youth Word word. The video quality was very poor. It had very dark images, with poor to fair quality of sound.

I would not recommend spending the money on this set! Unless you are a big, big fan and just have to have something from the East side kids movies. 5. inneselcavirdars.vawarcedigirelounutmolesata.co An Atlanta jazz band with funk underpinnings, Brick's claim to fame was their No. 1 R&B hit "Dazz." Basically a light funk groove, with jazz instrumentals on top, and a unison vocal, this tune set the stage for Brick's vision of discofied jazz: they followed that first hit with "Dusic" (what else, "disco meets music" much as the prior hit tackled jazz) and then shifted into a /5().
  6. This Epic release is easily the best introduction to the Atlanta-based group's unique fusion of funk, disco, and improvisational soul. With only one pronounced omission -- their later hit "Sweat (Until You Get Wet)" -- The Best of Brick covers all the major points of the group's short but influential seven-year recording career -- with a decided focus on their first two records.
