This one stands out to me all of the early stuff is incredible! The recorded sound is so great on this Cd, just surprisingly good. I could clearly hear the Hendrix and Floyd influences throughout. I do agree that the Scorpions were more musically interesting before the polished years.

In my mind it's basically been downhill since around !!! As most reviewers have noted this is not your arena era Scorpions. This is their roots. It causes one to wonder what they would have produced had they continued down this darker, heavier sound. Klaus Meine is amazing on this album. The rhythm section is probably better than those who replaced them.

For a roots album, it is amazing tight, and very German. Klaus' english was still extremely accented, which only adds to the darker sound. The 13 minute title track is worth the price. I would love to hear this album remixed and rereleased.

  1. Something of an anomaly for the Scorpions, Lonesome Crow focuses on deep, dark melodies that sound like a bad combination of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and the Rolling Stones. Although Michael Schenker provides some strong guitar melodies, the album fails to capture any real interest.4/
  2. Lonesome Crow, Fly to the Rainbow and Taken by Force are my 3 favorite albums by the Scorpions, followed by Virgin Killer and In Trance, which are also amazing. You really cannot go wrong with Michael Schenker (Lonesome Crow) or Uli Jon Roth on lead guitar on the other 4 early Scorpions albums/5().

  7. “Lonesome Crow” is basically a trippy, psychedelic, rock album from Germany’s biggest export. The soothing vocals of Klaus Meine are still noticeable, but heavy riffing and flying solos are not going to be found here. A lot of mellowing howls by Meine are used either for .
