Although attempted suicide is more frequent for women, men are more likely than women to complete suicide because they typically use more-lethal methods, such as a firearm.
Suicide in children and teenagers can follow stressful life events. What a young person sees as serious and insurmountable may seem minor to an adult — such as problems in school or the loss of a friendship. In some cases, a child or teen may feel suicidal due to certain life circumstances that he or she may not want to talk about, such as:.
If you have concerns about a friend or family member, asking about suicidal thoughts and intentions is the best way to identify risk. In rare cases, people who are suicidal are at risk of killing others and then themselves. Known as a homicide-suicide or murder-suicide, some risk factors include:.
Most antidepressants are generally safe, but the Food and Drug Administration requires that all antidepressants carry black box warnings, the strictest warnings for prescriptions. In some cases, children, teenagers and young adults under 25 may have an increase in suicidal thoughts or behavior when taking antidepressants, especially in the first few weeks after starting or when the dose is changed. However, keep in mind that antidepressants are more likely to reduce suicide risk in the long run by improving mood.

If you're in danger of killing yourself, your doctor may have you get emergency help at the hospital. Later that year, the band entered the Rock The Nation and Nuclear Blast band contest, in which they eventually took first place, topping 1, bands from Europe. Following the release of Sanctify the Darkness in November  by Nuclear Blast , the group started touring with bands like Kataklysm and Overkill , while also getting an opportunity to perform at many European festivals, including Wacken Open Air and Metalcamp.
In spring of , the band toured in Eastern Europe, again with Death Angel ,  and participated in more summer festivals in Ukraine. The band recorded their fourth album, Bloodbath , in the fall of ,  which hit the stores in January , making it to the German charts at position 84 and to the Austrian charts at position After the success of that tour, the band was confirmed for more summer festivals, such as Brutal Assault Open Air  for the 2nd time in a row in August of the same year.
Soon after the end of summer, a change in the line up took place, with Chris Tsitsis  replacing Panos Spanos on the guitar. The result was Divide and Conquer , released on the 10th of January , reaching 82 in the German charts.
Shortly after, the band hit the road once again, with a headlining tour called the Conquering Europe Tour,  which also yielded the band's first live album, Conquering Europe ,  recorded in Essen , Germany. With constant touring not deterring the band from regularly delivering new albums, Suicidal Angels released their sixth album Division of Blood in ,  which saw yet another change in the line up, this time with Gus Drax replacing Chris Tsitsis on guitar.
