In , the band signed to German metal label Noise Records and recorded their sixth album, Kill after Kill. The band went on a three-week European tour with Rage to support it. After the tour, the band disappeared for a second time. It would be three years before they would be heard from again.

In March , an almost completely new line-up was announced. Ricci was the only returning original member. The new line-up played a few well received gigs in Canada before recording a new album, The Dark Command.

The album was released in With one of their strongest albums in years, the band went out on a European tour with fellow Canadian heavy metal band Anvil and American thrash metal band Flotsam and Jetsam. Between and , the band was basically dormant with only two festival appearances in the two-year span. The new album was heavier and more aggressive than its predecessor. A year later, Marc Charron quit to pursue a career in the technology industry.

At the beginning of , a new line-up was announced, with Ricci and Rik Charron returning along with new vocalist Rob Degroot and new bassist Paul Champagne. This line-up only lasted until March when Degroot left. In , Paul Champagne was released from the band. The band recorded their ninth studio album, New Testament , with Ricci on both guitar and bass. New Testament is somewhat of a compilation album of re-recorded classics from throughout the band's entire career.

Now looking back on that new and exciting time in the world of metal one can easily forget the more classic efforts for the more commercially acceptable ones.

Heavy Metal Maniac, the debut album from our friends Exciter from Canada. The album calmly starts off with a wind gust on the track "Holocaust" which in turn leads into the track "Stand Up and Fight". I can hear a lot of Motorhead influence in this band.

The title track is a decent speed metal song, its not my favorite off the album but it isn't the worst. This track is an all out trasher with some of the best riffage and drumming on the whole album. Not to mention, this song has some of the best descriptive lyrics on the whole album as well. Any way, the double bass is superb on the intro, and the solo is my personal favorite off the whole album. And not to mention another great solo to compliment this great track.

From the beginning to the high pitched end this is my favorite album of The speed, intensity, and solos rival Metallica's Kill 'Em All. Don't believe me? Listen to the album, break it down piece by piece, and you'll see why you should buy this album. One of the genre's forgotten architects was the Canadian based "Exciter",a band who experimented with speed and combined garage level production values for a rawer, meaner sound that most Metal available at the time.

There contribution is not often cited as much as Metallica,Exodus and Slayer, but they deserve more credit. This was there debut, and as exemplified by the wonderfully, rebellious artwork,a real kick in the pants to the unsuspecting Metalhead. The album is a non-stop attack on the senses, producing many classic tracks like "Stand Up and Fight","Iron Dogs","Cry of the banshee" and a wonderfully brutal, sexually driven maelstorm of a title track.

Drummer,Dan Beehler has a unique vocal delivery that sets him apart from his contemporaries, and still makes the band sound unique today. While the sound is somewhat dated, the album still has enough youthful energy to keep it moving along at a good headbang.
